Firehouse Youth: Sparks

Firehouse Youth’s Sparks Program provides various para-educational benefits and enrichment for grades K through 5. We round out our educational curriculum with enrichments to assist student development in areas such as their academics, spiritual needs, emotional regulation, and practical life skills. Sparks provides academic support in literacy and math skills and is committed to incorporating social-emotional learning into the curriculum. Our Bible Block enrichment helps students explore values and morals in a fun and easy way to understand. Ms. Dannika Stevenson from Sip, Savor, Soul helps students learn how to prepare healthy and exciting meals.

Support for Sparks can be provided in many ways. Our Sparks students love to learn and play with community members, so volunteers are always welcome in our space. Weekly volunteers help our students have fun while working on improving academic skills and, of course, playing during our free time. We also love introducing students to new enrichments, so we love to partner with professionals and other organizations to expose students to subjects like STEM, visual and performing arts, and physical activities. We regularly add enrichment supplies, games, and other much-needed items to our Amazon wish lists so students have what they need to succeed.
