Cranksgiving: A Ride for a Cause

Join South Street Ministries this November 16th for Cranksgiving, an event combining community and charity!

Conceived in the bustling streets of New York City in 1999, Cranksgiving is an event that brings together the heart of a food drive. It’s a scavenger hunt and a testament to community spirit. Whether you’re a seasoned rider or a family looking to teach your kids the value of giving, Cranksgiving is the perfect event.

Your generous contributions will empower South Street Ministries to impact the lives of countless individuals across our various programs throughout 2025. Plus, Cranksgiving offers participants a unique journey through the vibrant communities we proudly serve. Let’s make a difference, one pedal at a time!

Event Details:

When: November 16th, (check in at 9:30 AM) 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Starting Location: Summit Cycling Center, 222 S. Main St, Lock 3 – O’Neil’s Building Basement, Akron, OH 44308 (Check in is 9:30 a.m. with a light breakfast and coffee provided)

Roll out at 10:00 am

Collect 10 Different Requested Items from 5 Different Stores!

Ending Destination: Porchlight Coffee, 798 Grant Street, Akron, OH 44311 (open until 2:00 p.m.)

Scavenger Hunt Rules:

  1. Grab your bike and meet us at Summit Cycling Center check in is at 9:30 and be ready to roll out by 10:00.
  2. You’ll receive two lists: one for non-perishable food items and another for clothing/hygiene products.
  3. Venture out to collect at least 10 items from at least 5 different stores. You must have at least one food item, at least one hygiene item, and at least one outerwear item. Present your receipts to earn one free raffle ticket.

Raffle Details:

We have hundreds of dollars of great prizes donated by cycling industry partners. There will be 5-6 baskets available. Tickets will be $1 each, 6/$5, 12/$10, and 25/$20 and can be purchased by clicking the button below or with cash only at Summit Cycling before roll out or at Grant Street when you drop off your items. Winners will be drawn at 2:00 Saturday November 16. Winners do not need to be present but must pick up their basket at 798 Grant Street by the end of November, or prizes will be returned to our collection for next year.
